چکیده
OBJECTIVES To study the influence of forefoot plantar pressure of the first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation by three different implants to provide experimental reference in selecting implants. METHODS Eight fresh foot specimens were made into the models of the first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation, which were fixed with 3.5 mm cortical screw, 1/4 tubular plate and compressive staple in turn. After the loading of 600N, the changes of the plantar pressure in forefoot were measured by the method of the F-scan plantar pressure system. RESULTS After first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation, the peak pressure under the first metatarsal head would decrease, while the pressure under the second metatarsal head would increase(P<0.05). When the first tarsometatarsal joint was fixed with screw or plate respectively; the peak pressure under the two metatarsal heads would tend to be normal. However, the staple fixation would show the statistical significant difference, although the peak pressure under the first and second metatarsal heads were recovered in some extent(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS After the first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation, the plantar pressure might be compensated partly by the adjacent metatarsal heads. While the first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation was fixed by screw or plate, the plantar pressure of the forefoot would return to the normal state. However, if the joint was fixed by the staple, it would still be difficult to return the plantar pressure to be normal.

Finite element analysis of locking plate and 1/4 tubular plate for first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation
Objective The optimal plate for fixation of tarsometatarsal joint injuries is controversial. The objective of this study was to compare the biomechanical characteristics between a locking plate and 1/4 tubular plate for first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation. Method Finite element analysis was used after establishment of a first tarsometatarsal joint fracture-dislocation model. Two im...
متن کاملPedobarographic analysis and quality of life after Lisfranc fracture dislocation.
BACKGROUND Few studies on tarsometatarsal fracture dislocations report on plantar pressure analysis and quality of life. The primary aim of this study was to determine the added value of plantar pressure analysis. The secondary aim was to determine quality of life and functional outcome. MATERIALS AND METHODS With a median followup of 76 months, 26 patients with an isolated Lisfranc injury pa...
متن کاملSimultaneous of Mid Third Clavicle Fracture and Type 3 Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation; A Case Report
Simultaneous mid third clavicle fracture and acromioclavicular joint dislocation is a rare combination injury, as a result of high-energy trauma. We report a patient with a middle third clavicle fracture and ipsilateral grade three-acromioclavicular joint dislocation, which is a rare combination. The patient wanted to get back to work as soon as possible, so the fracture was fixed with recons...
متن کاملA Case Report of Floating Metatarsal: Concomitant Dislocation of the Tarsometatarsal and Metatarsophlangeal Joints of the Second Toe
An extremely rare case of floating second metatarsal is reported. The reported case is a young man with simultaneous dislocation of tarsometatarsal and metatarsophalangeal joints of the second metatars following a car accident. Because of patient's discontent for open surgery, blind percutaneus pinning was performed that was not completely successful and in follow up radiography, 18 months late...
متن کاملPlantar dislocation of lateral tarsometatarsal joint: a case of subtle Lisfranc injury.
INTRODUCTION We present a rare case of plantar dislocation of the cuboid, fourth and fifth metatarsal joints. Fracture-dislocation in the midfoot region may be subtle and difficult to recognise at the emergency department. CLINICAL PICTURE A 16-year-old girl presented with lateral foot pain and swelling following a fall from a height of 3 m. Initial radiograph revealed a third metatarsal shaf...
